Rep. Jay Rodne sponsors two students as pages at state Capitol

Rep. Jay Rodne, R-North Bend, sponsored two students as pages this legislative session.

Logan Weatherbee, 16, is the son of Jan and Lance Weatherbee of Fall City. He attends Mount Si High School and is in 11th grade. Logan paged February 5-10.

Caden Wilhelmsen, 14, is the son of Brooklee and Robert Wilhelmsen of Roy. He is in 8th grade at Yelm Middle School. Caden paged from January 29 to February 3.

The students attended page school daily to learn more about the legislative process and sponsored mock bills with their fellow students from around Washington state. They also distributed documents to state lawmakers and staff throughout the state Capitol campus.

Young men and women have come to Olympia to serve as pages for the Washington State Legislature since 1891. Pages must be ages 14 to 16, obtain permission from their parents and schools, and have acceptable grades. Most pages stay with local volunteer host families.
